Challenge

Our client is a results-driven media and communications agency in Rochester, NY. Due to their successful growth rate and recent acquisition of a consulting agency, they needed assistance hiring approximately 70 new employees within six months (October 2021–April 2022) to keep their current and new client growth simultaneously moving forward.

Since the pandemic, there had been repetitive peaks and valleys among hiring volumes across all industries, along with fluctuating candidate availability — all of which was finding its balance as the economy returned to work.

Solution

The Imagine Group was given this task and delivered cutting-edge data analytics, achieving all key performance indicators (KPIs) in half the allotted time frame — allowing the client to take on additional clients during the acquisition.

Imagine provided continuous insights on current market conditions, identifying where top talent could be found, along with critical statistics including salary expectations by market, competitor intelligence, and more. This empowered the client to stand out and become the preferred employer of choice within their industry.

Outcome

The combined recruitment and marketing strategy quickly delivered strong results. Within the first month, Imagine successfully hired 250 hourly employees—already halfway to the hourly hiring goal. In the first six months, 75 salaried employees were also onboarded, building out the leadership and support teams critical to operations. Beyond the numbers, the marketing efforts helped ease community concerns and reposition the client as a positive contributor to the region. Together, these efforts not only set the foundation for reaching the full staffing goal of 600 employees but also helped the client launch its new facility with stronger community alignment and an elevated employer brand.
